Lux Vidigal wants everyone to be able to use luxvidigal.com. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing commitment.
1. Measures We Take
- Semantic HTML with one main heading per page and a logical heading order.
- A "skip to content" link for keyboard and screen-reader users.
- Descriptive alt text on meaningful images; decorative images are marked as such.
- Keyboard navigation for interactive elements, with a visible focus outline.
- Colour contrast checked against the AA thresholds.
- Respect for the reduced-motion system setting, muting scroll animations.
2. Known Limitations
We are honest about where we still fall short. Some archival and Creative Commons photographs in our journal carry brief captions rather than full descriptions, and we are improving these over time. If you hit a barrier we have not listed, please tell us.
3. Accessibility of the Apartment
The apartment is on two levels connected by an internal staircase, on a hillside in Vidigal, so access involves steps. If you have specific accessibility needs — step-free access, a ground-floor bedroom, bathroom grab bars, or anything else — please contact us at [email protected] before you book, and we will describe the access honestly so you can decide whether it works for you.
4. Feedback & Contact
If any part of this Site is difficult to use, email [email protected] and describe the problem and the page. We aim to respond within 5 business days and to provide the information you need in another format if that helps.
5. How We Test
We test with keyboard-only navigation, a screen reader (VoiceOver), and automated tooling (Lighthouse). Automated tools cannot catch everything, which is why the contact above matters.
